Opening Reflection
A very warm welcome to our service today as we look at Romans 2 following the start of our new series last week. We pray that as you come to spend time today that you will surrender yourself to God, you will give thanks in our prayers and our praise, no matter what situation we are facing, for the Lord is always near.
Let us open with
Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father we give you thanks and praise for this new day and as we come before you and shout our joy to you. Lord fill our hearts with gladness and may we know the presence of your Holy Spirit is dwelling deep within us as we draw closer to you, for Lord when we walk in your footsteps, quench ourselves fully in your Word, we gain strength to face a new day. Lord hear our prayers this we pray in Jesus almighty Name Amen.

Prayers of Confession:
Let us pray:
Lord we come before you and we offer up our prayers of confession and forgiveness. You have given us a world of beauty, and we have spoilt it.
A world to feed us, and so many go hungry. A world of riches, and we are unwilling to share. A world to care for, and we think only of ourselves.
Forgive us, gracious God, for those times your heart is saddened by our selfishness. For those times we have no thought for others, no cares but ours. Enable us to see this world anew as a gift from you, to be shared and nurtured, and those who live upon it to be loved and cared for.
Let us spend a few minutes as we offer up our own prayers of confession, seeking God's forgiveness pause:
We ask this that your name may be glorified, through the beauty of this world, and the service of our lives as we conclude with the prayer Jesus taught us,
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory
Are yours, now and forever.

Prayers of Intercession
Let us pray:
Lord we bring before you, your troubled world. We are concerned for the tragedy of war, pandemic and climate change; for the terrorism in Afghanistan and for those left behind. Lord we are unable to comprehend what they have been going through, the hurt the pain, the loss. We pray for those affected by Covid and ask that you surround them with your healing hand. We pray for all those being effected by the severe weather conditions, and have found themselves homeless. Lord may you place on our hearts these matters that concern you and uphold each in prayer. Lord, hear our cries as we earnestly prayer, make us earnest in action to help the world recover. Bring your Peace to all who are suffering today.
Your church is a body of many peoples and parts, upholding and praising you in different ways. That difference can become a judgement causing division and disrespect. Help us to live together in the one faith; to pray for and with those who see you in their different ways. As we serve you Lord, may your light shine, may we be instrumental to your calling, and be guided by our will and purpose and not our own.
We pray for the needs of our loved ones, our friends and our neighbours and that we be mindful of the different needs of those we meet. Help us to be there when needed, sharing the high and happy parts of life and supportive during the lowest and most miserable times. We remember all those who need more of your love this morning and bring before you those ill at home or in hospital and those who care for them. We bring before you those who feel no one cares for or about them, for the unemployed, the poor, the lonely, the depressed and those suffering injustice and neglect. May we come beside those in need as you make them known to us. And now, in a moment of silence, please pray for those persons you know who need your prayers today.
Lord we pray that as we uphold daily in intercessory prayer that we in turn will listen to what you want us to do, and may we be obedient and in all our actions they bring glory to your precious name, Amen

Offering
Whilst we appreciate this is a challenging time, we are grateful and give our thanks to God for all His provision, for your word says: 16 Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.
We are thankful Lord that you have blessed us with a church building, although whilst we are unable to meet there in person at the moment we know that we still have expenditure that we have to meet.
Lord place on our hearts what we are able to give, ensuring we do not give beyond our means.

Prayers of Thanksgiving
Lord as we come to offer our prayers may we just stop and pause, and in the silence lift up our prayers of praise to you. Pause.
Lord, too often our prayers are filled with impatience over what we want instead of gratitude for what we already have. Lord help us and remind us today and in the coming months, what is truly important.
Remind us to give thanks for family and friends. Remind us to be grateful for the work you have given us. Remind us to appreciate our many material blessings.
Most of all, remind us today and every day to give thanks for your precious Son Jesus for we seek to have more of you Lord in our lives, in our hearts, in our every breath so in all we do we honour your name.
Lord thank you for your Word and for all you do in our lives. This we pray in Jesus Name Amen

Reading: Romans 2:1-16
God’s Righteous Judgment
2 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism.
12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Closing Reflection
As we draw to a close, may you continue to allow God's Word to dwell within your soul, within your heart and consider, as you seek God's wisdom, spend time each day, asking God what He wants you to do and give thanks in all situations.
We give thanks to Rev'd Alan Bird for sharing God's Word for us today and may we reflect on The Judgment of God from Romans 2 today.
We are so thankful for all those who continue to pray and support us during our time of interregnum. for it is our faith, our unity, or diversity which makes church. What a wonderful blessing.
We give thanks to God for our families, our fellowship, our neighbours, our work colleagues. God people, the living body of our Lord Jesus Christ. God calls us into a deeper communion with Him. We are here to encourage, to serve our communities, seeking God's face, His wisdom as we walk together. Not our own wants but aligning our hearts desire to that of God. We look forward to the day the church doors are open wide, and we can celebrate, and we are thankful for all those in the preparation and participation for this to happen God will and purpose.
